Since before the age of dinosaurs, the time-tested way dentists have straightened teeth is with traditional wire and bracket braces attached to the fronts of the teeth, and then tightened incrementally until the teeth are pulled into alignment. They have been very extremely effective over the years and are still in use today for the most complicated cases. However, they are restrictive, uncomfortable, and inconvenient when compared to the newer options for teeth straightening on the market today. And need we even mention how glaringly obvious they are? Although, there have been some improvements in camouflaging traditional braces with tooth-colored brackets and lingual braces that are positioned on the internal side of the tooth. Still, traditional braces will never be “invisible.”

Today, the most discreet and convenient way to straighten your teeth comes from clear aligners. ClearCorrect aligners are one of the most popular of the clear aligner manufacturers. They are a series of see-through plastic trays that are custom-molded to the patient’s teeth and adjusted incrementally. You’ll wear the molds on your teeth, changing them out about every two weeks until they are moved into perfect alignment. Because the aligners are completely clear, no one is able to tell you are undergoing orthodontic treatment.

Additionally, the convenience of clear aligners is a big benefit. Unlike traditional braces, you can remove aligners to eat, drink, clean, and brush your teeth. Another fun fact, there are no eating restrictions either! We needed you to be particular about the kinds of food that you ate with traditional brackets and wires because things like apples and corn on the cob could do damage. No more! Caring for aligners is a whole lot easier as you can imagine.
